Nurse Navigator - Trauma Services (FT Days)
Overview: The Nurse Navigator is responsible for coordinating the care of patients with cancer ( breast cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancer and other cancers). This role includes providing education and support to patients, family, staff and caregivers. The goals of this position include improving patient care and flow, eliminating barriers and improving the overall patient experience by connecting the patient and family with appropriate resources and services. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of three years nursing experience;oncology related experience preferred Preferred Experience: Prefer 3 years of oncology experience. Required Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program Preferred Education: BSN preferred Certifications: BLS/CPR requirement Preferred Certifications: Oncology Certified Nurse preferred. Other: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; assessment skills to include the assessment of biopsychosocial needs; the ability to plan and organize time; The ability to effectively utilize resources to meet patient needs. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Must have excellent organization skills and able to stay focused and manage multiple responsibilities. Able to work in stressful condition with a positive attitude. Proficient computer skills. Preferred Other: Public speaking skills, easily understands and integrates new information regarding computer databases, and medical information and protocols.
