Responsibilities
The new St. Michael’s progressive care unit has the latest in equipment. Many of our rooms have ceiling lifts. Our teams are supported by respiratory therapy physical and occupational therapy pharmacy on the units rapid response team case management on the units and a team of engaged physicians. Job Summary
This 32 bed telemetry monitored unit houses PCU level of care with some medical/telemetry overflow as well. This is our primary stroke unit that also manages respiratory and cardiac patients. This unit is staffed at a 1:3-4 patient ratio consistent with national standards of care.
Essential Duties
Provides continuous cardiac monitoring arrhythmia recognition and intervention.
Initiates and titrates multiple complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses.
Manages high flow & bipap patients.
Manages patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events.
Training as Charge Nurse may be expected within the first year. This will be determined by job performance and experience.Qualifications
Job Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing BSN preferred.
Previous PCU or ICU experience preferred.
Previous Emergency room experience also considered
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or attainment within six months of hire.
CCRN or PCCN encouraged.
