Community Healthcare System is hiring a Nurse Practitioner ICU Team .
The Practitioner, is a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) who provides acute care to the patients in the Critical Care Unit (ICU). The NP works in collaboration with the Intensivist and the multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care and treatment to patients within the ICU Scope.
Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities:
Fulfills all functions afforded to the advanced practice nurse Functions within hospital written policies and delineated privileges Assesses ICU patients using advanced knowledge and skill to identify abnormal conditions; Identifies health problems; develops and implements treatment plans in collaboration with the medical director. Evaluates patient outcomes and collaborates with other practitioners in managing care. Writes orders within boundaries of the approved hospital privileges and the collaborative practice agreement and policies of the wound ostomy continence nurse specialty. Prescribes drugs, including controlled substance (DEA numbers) in accordance with the approved hospital privileges or protocols of the clinical specialty and the collaborative agreement Performs/documents/dictates comprehensive history and physical examinations specific ICU patientRequired Skills & Qualifications:
Must have successfully completed an accredited program for a clinical nurse specialist or nurse practitioner with a minimum of a master’s degree of nursing; license to practice in the State of Indiana with 2 years current experience in critical care preferred. Documentation of prescriptive authority granted by the State of Indiana and a valid controlled substance certification must be on file in the Medical Staff Services Department prior to ordering of medications Must successfully complete credentialing and privileging process before functioning as an advanced practice nurse Demonstration of completion of an advanced physical assessment class Successful completion of the Community Hospital Personnel and Nursing Orientation Programs. Completes continuing education as required by certification and governing bodies. Obtains and maintains current CPR certification Computer literacy with familiarity of Windows and data base management
