Job Summary:
Provides leadership, direction and coordination of all clinical and occupational health activities for identified Health Management Services clinic/s under the direction of the HMS Manager. Ensures quality and cost-efficient care is provided to all worker populations at the site/s. Practices within the parameters of professional licensure to ensure consistency with legal, labor, regulatory and corporate requirements.
Essential Job Duties:
Oversees and manages onsite clinic operations in California clinic site/s as designated; provides clinical oversight to site Health Management staff, assigning work, managing activities, conducting performance assessments, etc. Manage departmental budget to include forecasting, projection and daily monitoring of expenditures. Will ensure that expenditures are reported, evaluated and /or adjusted in a cost-effective manner. Interpret and implement all standard practices and policies within the clinic for compliance with all regulatory parties including OSHA, FMLA, HIPPA, ADA, CLIA and workers compensation law. Collaborates with senior management, Safety, Legal, Human Resources, Risk Management and other key stakeholders to carry out goals and objectives of the organization and the department; leads initiatives to embrace greater communication and collaboration between Health Management Services and key stakeholders. Serve takes call as assigned and required after core hours for HMS for Grifols US based operations. Acts as professional resource to company management in planning and maintaining initiatives and programs in support of overall health and wellness strategy and philosophy; assesses clinic operations and activities and makes recommendations for process improvements. Provides initial assessment of occupational injuries, illnesses and exposures and may treat or refer for further evaluation as necessary in accordance with clinical guidelines and protocols. Assesses non-occupational illnesses occurring at work; determines the immediacy of treatment, and gives guidance to seek care from emergency /personal health care providers. Completes return to work activities involving work restrictions, modified scheduling and medical accommodations; ensuring compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act and other appliable laws and regulations. May perform biometric screenings in support of health and wellness activities; may provide on-site delivery of pharmacy services appropriate; provides guidance and support to employees and educates employees about health management and disease management programs available through health care providers. Coordinates nursing process to generate consistent documentation of treatment, interactive process and administrative aspects at site. Provides episodic care for agreed upon scope of practice in the onsite clinic. Provides health-related counseling for supervisors and employees within the scope of nursing knowledge and practice. Maintains and safeguards privacy and confidentiality of business and personal information. Provides consistent and timely reporting of Health Management Services activities, metrics an performance to HMS Manager. Manages occupational health management information system to track and monitor activities. Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education of self and staff to ensure competency and performance consistent with professional Occupational Health Nursing Standards.
Job Requirements:
Current California state Nurse Practitioner License. Current California state RN License. Minimum of 3 years of clinical related experience in an emergency or occupational health setting as a nurse practitioner. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience. Extensive knowledge of medical practices related to treatment of work-related illness and injuries. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe medical environment. Master's degree and graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, Health Management staff, and workers. Comprehensive knowledge and application of business concepts, procedures, and practices. Knowledge of rules and regulations governing functions including but not limited to, OSHA, FMLA, HIPPA, ADAA, CLIA and employment laws. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises good judgment withing broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for onboarding results. Has broad knowledge of various technical alternatives and their potential impact on the business. Ability to work across departments and various levels. Able to maintain confidential information.
The estimated pay scale for the Nurse Practitioner role based in Los Angeles, CA, is $107,697 – $145,000 / year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 8% of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
