Full-time: Various Locations SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION: As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner PMHNP in conjunction with the clinical team, has overall clinical responsibility for monitoring individual’s treatment and staff delivery of clinical services; the PMHNP provides psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment; clinical supervision, education, and training of the team; and development, maintenance, and supervision of medication and psychiatric and medical treatment policies and procedures. MUST Work with all ages from child/adolescent through adulthood. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Knowledge and demonstration of agency core values in day-to-day activities + Collaborates with the Medical Director regarding psychiatric health services, education, and any other clinical needs + Ability to complete psychiatric assessment across the life span + Conduct psychiatric assessments including psychiatric history, course of illness, response to treatment; mental status examination and DSM 5 diagnoses + Participate in case review to collaborate with the clinical team and provide feedback and recommendations. + Orders laboratory tests, interrupts, and explains the test results to individuals and families if applicable + Perform or recommended age-appropriate screening procedures + Work with children and their families in anticipation of developmental milestones and life cycle events + Collaborate with the care team regarding an individual’s physical/behavioral needs. Making appropriate community referrals for further assessment and treatment as needed + Prescribe psychotropic medications and conduct regular assessment of therapeutic responses and side effects and educate individuals/families regarding psychotropic medications + Perform age-appropriate therapy sessions to include family education. + Return calls and emails promptly (within 24 hours of receipt or sooner if clinically necessary) + Responsible for maintaining customer relations with all agency staff and clients + Responsible for providing psychiatric services to individuals in a variety of clinical settings during scheduled hours. Scope of services includes outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management services. + Assess, diagnose, and treat adults, adolescents, and children experiencing symptoms of a behavioral health disorders. + Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in accordance with the Collaborative Practice Agreement and the state’s Nurse Practice Act. + Provide crisis assessment and management of individuals during regular work hours, during other hours, and as on-call back up as needed + Submit written reports and oral testimony and presentation of opinion in commitment and other legal proceedings and in a wide range of treatment, rehabilitative, and support services matters (e.g., AOT, Social Security applications, prior authorization of mediation, etc.). + Participate in and supervise the development of the comprehensive treatment plan for each patient at treatment planning meetings. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: + Demonstrates a clear understanding of the characteristics and problems of adults and children with severe and persistent mental illness + Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of effective clinical practices and principles + Strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illness + Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, persuade and instruct. + Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills + Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English + Proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel, Outlook, etc. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: + Board certified or Board eligible in Psychiatry and licensed to practice medicine in the state in which the program is operating EXPERIENCE: + Appropriate to situation + Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record COMPENSATION: $159,000/yr - $200,000/yr
