stimulating work environment that inspires excellencePhysician Assistant Nurse Practitioner Role ScopeHartford HealthCares Hartford Hospital and Bone and Joint Institute are seeking a Nurse Practitioner APRN or Physician Assistant to join a very enthusiastic team in The PREPARE Center This is an outpatient clinic specializing in performing preoperative optimization and patient education in preparation for orthopedic and spine surgery Advanced Practitioners will work in collaboration with the surgeons and with the supervision of the physician Director of PREPARE centermiddot Review of patientrsquos medical historymiddot Perform and document HPs in the EMRmiddot Interpretation of lab values and EKGs including determining treatment for abnormalities notedmiddot Determine need for additional medical testing ordering and interpreting testingmiddot Referring patients to specialists as appropriatemiddot Perform and document anesthesia risk assessmentmiddot Provide medication instructions in preparation for surgerymiddot Complete risk assessment in preparation for surgery and identify any potential areas for optimizationmiddot Good communication skills are required to work with surgeons as well as primary care and specialty officesmiddot Perform teaching to patientfamily regarding anesthesia and general information about surgeryShiftFull time Nurse Practitioner APRN PA
