ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician.
· Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
· Records physical findings, formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
· Discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive care plan.
· Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician.
· Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
· Refers patients to physician or consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
· Observes state regulations and professional ethics applicable to nursing practice.
· Conducts health information opportunities for the community.
· Participates in ongoing evaluation of the community.
· Provides applicable reports to UAP Clinic.
· Participates in professional conventions, post-graduate seminars to participants in professional societies.
· Attends continuing medical education opportunities necessary to maintain and improve professional skills.
· Shows an understanding of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to determine each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific need.
· Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of in-service programs, and makes suggestions/revisions as appropriate.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED:
1. Must be graduated from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
2. Must have and maintain an active license.
3. Must meet and deal successfully with a wide variety of people.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear, and taste or smell.
The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to or more than 100 pounds and regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
