Nurse Practitioner for Governor's Wellmobile
*The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Nursing,*is seeking a *part-time Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to work on the Governor’s Wellmobile.* The mission of the Governor's Wellmobile is to provide primary and preventive health care services to geographically underserved communities and uninsured individuals across the state and serves at principal training sites for the UMSON for expanding student learning opportunities in caring for underserved populations. The nurse practitioner on the Wellmobile meets the mobile clinic in the field and conducts health encounters with patients across the lifespan. Employees whose job duties require them to work in clinical settings or at clinical or field sites continue to be subject to the vaccine requirements of those sites. *This position is required to be vaccinated against COVID−19*. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.* * Provide primary and preventative health services to geographically underserved communities and uninsured individuals across the state of Maryland. * Assess diagnose, prescribe, plan and evaluate patient encounters with focus on preventative care, and management chronic illness and uncomplicated acute illness. * The nurse practitioner will help the Community Outreach Worker problem solve patient's questions. * Conduct physical exams. * Order tests and lab work and interpreting results. * Make diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and evaluate treatment plans. * Communicate and collaborate with other medical professionals. * Assist patients with managing illness and maintaining wellness. * Perform other duties as assigned. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* *Education*:Master's degree in Nursing or Doctorate degree in Nursing. *Experience*:Current national certification from AANPNCB or other national certifying body (requires 18 months under a NP mentor before becoming certified) is required. Experience as a family nurse practitioner preferred. *Certification/Licensure*: Current Maryland license in good standing issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing to practice as a nurse practitioner or appropriate federal district licensure where research is conducted. Licensed with specific patient population and/or specialty area of research is required. Certified Registered Family Nurse Practitioner preferred. Certification from Association of Clinical Research Professionals or Society of Clinical Research Associates preferred. *Other*: May require training related to occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, shipping of hazardous materials and/or ionizing radiation. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES* Thorough knowledge of position requirements. Thorough knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to support a mission and strategic vision. Instructional, training, and teambuilding skills to strengthen and cultivate relationships. Skill in consultation and change management.
