Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations in an outpatient family practice clinic and emergency department and in collaboration with a physician. Nurse Practitioners practice under the rules and regulations of the Nurse Practice Act of the state in which they work. 

Education and/or Experience

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) required. Minimum of 1-2 years general nursing experience required. 1-2 years Nurse Practitioner experience in a clinic or hospital preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Licensure as an APRN Nurse Practitioner in the state of Nebraska or multistate licensure in a compact state required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or multistate licensure in a compact state required. Federal DEA certification required for Nebraska. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within three months of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within three months of hire. Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) required within one year of hire.

Work Schedule

Varied Shifts, this is a Call-Only position; 80 hours every 2 weeks Mondays and Wednesdays: 7:00am-7:00am – 24 hour on-call shifts Fridays: 7:00am-5:00pm on-call shifts 1 in 7 weekends 1 holiday per year
