Job Summary + Provides medical services and health education to patients under the supervision of the physician sponsor with regards to the age specific populations including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. + Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care. + Meets regularly with the physician sponsor for consultation, supervision and collaboration. + Assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in the hospital according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice. Education and/or Experience + Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required. + Master’s degree required. Licensure/Certification/Registration + An active CNP license is required. + Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure required. + Federal and State DEA certification is required for South Dakota and Iowa employees. + ATLS and ACLS certifications required. Work Schedule + Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks + 8:00 am - 5:00 pm + Occasional weekend (Hospital call every fourth weekend) + Every 3rd holiday + Occasional call time (Hospital every fourth weekend, 1 in 4 week nights) What Makes Avera Special?
