**Responsibilities**
The APP will work collaboratively within the adult inpatient services of the Department of Neurology, and interact with physicians, nurses, and other allied health staff to provide high-quality patient care at Saint Marys Hospital.
The APP will be mentored closely by our growing Neurohospitalist consultant group. The APP will assist with admissions, discharges, and care of patients housed on the inpatient Neurology services.
Primary Responsibilities
The APP will manage the Inpatient Service during the day, including:
+ Performing admission and completing discharge summaries for patients admitted to the hospital service
+ Rounding daily on patients admitted to the service in conjunction with the Neurohospitalists
+ Addressing patient needs that develop during the hospital stay
+ Prescribing home-going medications, as appropriate
+ Ordering medications, procedures and tests
+ Reviewing follow-up studies and test results
+ Coordinating appropriate follow-up after discharge
+ Assisting in outpatient patient management prn
+ Checking out to the night time call coverage at the end of the work day
**Qualifications**
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, or ACNP.
Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.

This will be a day/evening position with 12 hour shifts working every 5th weekend.
