MAJOR FUNCTION: 

Directs the clinical delivery of medical care and is responsible for maintaining relationships and coordinating activities of physicians and mid-level providers, clinical staff, and operations. Oversees the development of clinical content in the company materials.

The advanced practice provider (Nurse Practitioner) within the Pre-Admission Testing department under the guidance of Anesthesia, is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team ensuring patients are optimized for surgery. 

Roles Include:

Completes physical assessments on pre-surgical patients Reviews H&Ps, diagnostic testing, laboratory testing, and other supporting information. Assesses for risks associated with the care of the acute and complex chronically ill patient including medication side effects, mobility, impaired nutrition, fluid and electrolyte imbalance, immunocompetence, and diagnostic procedures.  Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, including RNs, Anesthesia, Surgeons, office managers, surgical scheduling, and surgical services leadership. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and completed masters or postgraduate certificate Nurse Practitioners’ program. High quality of nursing competence and advanced leadership skills.

Certification/Licensure:    

Current registration with NJ State Board of Nursing. Certified by nationally recognized nurse practitioner organization. BLS Certification required. ACLS preferred. Physical Requirements:
