Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

Work Schedule: 

100% FTE, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. No holidays or call requirements. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients. 

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to:

Independently conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic diagnoses in the clinic and Pediatric Day Treatment Center.      Perform procedures as indicated such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures.  Collaborate with Nursing and Physician colleagues provide care coordination/continuity, including triage, family education, aligning treatment protocols with scheduled outpatient visits, continuity for physicians and the medical team, preparing and signing chemotherapy treatment plans and orders (following appropriate orientation), scheduling radiographic studies and other evaluations, participating in peer to peer reviews for insurance approval of necessary scans and medical equipment, coordinating referrals to other sub-specialists, and arranging home health services. Participate as the APP leader (along with a physician leader) in various multi-specialty clinics within pediatric hematology/oncology. 

Education:
If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum –  State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
If Nurse Practitioner*:

Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following:  Pediatric Primary Care or Pediatric Acute Care.

If Physician Assistant*:

Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND Active PA board certification

All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire
