Glens Falls Hospital’s Talent Acquisition team has modernized recruitment strategies leveraging evidence-based methods for bolstering candidate sourcing, increasing candidate volume and filling vacancies across a wide domain of clinical and non-clinical healthcare roles. The Nurse Recruiter serves as a strategic partner to the CNO and nursing leadership team specific to nursing recruitment, candidate placement and onboarding. This position builds and maintains a network of contacts within the region to identify and source qualified candidates. The Nurse Recruiter plays a critical role in the overall management of nursing recruitment, including candidate sourcing, screening, selection and seamless onboarding of nurses and nursing personnel. The Nurse Recruiter works with the Human Resources team to ensure timely applicant processing and utilizes metrics to continually improve hiring outcomes. The Nurse Recruiter works with nursing leadership and the marketing team to develop innovative nurse advertising media that showcases nursing excellence at GFH and areas with critical needs. The Nurse Recruiter develops solid relationships with the hiring nurse leaders and managers, as well as knowledge of the various clinical settings within the organization where nurses practice. This position interacts routinely with nurse leaders and clinical nurses to develop innovative nurse recruitment and retention strategies.

Responsibilities

Attends regular meetings of the nursing leadership team and relevant HR meetingsMonitors performance (e.g. RN turnover and vacancy rates, applicant tracking metrics, unit level attrition) and utilizes metrics to initiate improvements in nurse retention.Works collaboratively with nurse leaders, external resources and HR team to facilitate sourcing of internal and external nurse applicants.Assists Nurse Managers in evaluation of candidate resumes against position requirements and may make initial contact with candidates to conduct pre-screening; makes referrals to appropriate positions based upon individual qualifications and interest.Manages candidate activity in the applicant tracking system and ensures offers are executed and finalized in a timely manner.Utilizes various sourcing methods and advertising methods (student rosters, social media, direct mail, job boards, internet, etc.) and regional events to develop a strong candidate pipeline; ensures hospital representation at regional educational events and nursing schools.Conducts exit and stay interviews to inform strategic initiatives to improve nurse retentionRepresents Glens Falls Hospital to promote the organization’s services and benefitsEstablishes effective business relationships with candidates and external stakeholders to increase future referralsOrganizes and staffs recruiting events and attends other public events as appropriate
