Overview Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process; performs technical nursing functions; and upholds the standard of practice of a professional nurse in caring for patients. The Registered Nurse is expected to perform all staff nurse activities. Qualifications Required Education: Associate's degree. Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered. Preferred Education: BSN, CCRN Necessary Skills: 1. Perform sheath removals as needed. 2. Transport patients using cath lab protocols. 3. Be familiar with cardiac medications and complications. 4. Ability to lead patient care with team members. 5. Complete annually unit based competencies. 6. Perform patient education. 7. Maintain supply control in unit. Perform patient education. 8. Ability to work well under pressure. 9. Good verbal communication. 10. Ability to uphold professional communication with other units within facility. 11. Administer conscious sedation. 12. Able to take call time Required Licensure/Certifications: Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida BLS from the American Heart Association is required ACLS from the American Heart Association is required Professional Certification Preferred Required Experience: 1-2 years Critical Care experience Preferred Experience: Invasive Lab, CCU, ER, ICU
