The Gynecology Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital has over 25 providers and see approximately 2000 patients per month. We are mainly a consultative practice that see patients with gynecology complications. Our specialty clinics include Vulvar Clinic, Colposcopy Clinic, Resident Clinic, Family Planning, Minimally Invasive Gynecological surgery and Urogynecology. Our RNs work closely with MDs and APPs (NP).

The staff nurse ensures proficient, conscientious nursing care. As a primary nurse is responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of patients. The RN collaborates with the primary physician, members of the patient care team, support staff and nurse manager to achieve efficient patient outcomes.
• Identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients.
• Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent information to and from other health team members.
• Participates in and contributes to performance improvement activities for the unit.
• Participates in teaching, education and directs all nursing personnel for whom she/he is responsible if applicable.
• Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.

Skills and Experience for a Staff Nurse
• 2 years of relevant nursing experience (med-surg, ambulatory, inpatient) required.
• Experience in OB/GYN and/or ambulatory experience preferred.
• Epic experience preferred.

-Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. <br>
-Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions. <br>


 

Qualifications

Education
Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Registered Nurse RN - Massachusetts

Experience
Clinical nursing experience 2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
