Nurse (RN/LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant - Urgent Care: Sign-on Bonus Available (Full-time) **Grand River Medical Group** 1 Positions ID: 1370567 Posted On 12/05/2024 **Job Overview** **Certified Medical Assistant or Nurse (RN/LPN)** Position is for Grand River Medical Group's Urgent Care locations Grand River Medical Group is seeking an experienced **Certified Medical Assistant or Nurse (RN/LPN)** to deliver high-quality care to our patients in a fast-paced patient care setting. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to rooming patients, phlebotomy, injections, and other tasks required to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate would possess robust CMA/nursing skills and the ability to work efficiently with little supervision. You must be able to work in a **fast-paced environment** and have strong organizational skills. You will also need to be a team player and work closely with the receptionist, clinicians, and all other members of the care team. **Part-time and weekend package hours available.** + Full-time: 3-4 days per week, flexible scheduling Grand River Medical Group's Urgent Cares are open Monday-Friday, 7:30am-7:00pm, and Saturday-Sunday, 8:30am-4:00pm. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. **Duties include but are not limited to:** + Prepare patients for clinician office visit: greet and escort patient to exam room, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the electronic medical record. Explain procedures appropriate to visit. + Draw blood for laboratory specimens according to protocol as needed. + Assist the clinician with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Demonstrate ability to perform and assist with clinical procedures. Provide direct patient care as ordered. + Accurately administer medications. + Responsible to float through the organization based on the need of the organization and skill set the CMA/Nurse has been signed off on to perform. + Document accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record. + Promote wellness by providing patient educational materials, communicating clinicians' advice and instructions to the patient and/or family and assess the patient and/or family understanding of the instructions and information. + Communicate to patient test results and return phone calls in a timely manner. + Coordinate patient care by triaging patient phone calls regarding urgency of appointments, communicating with clinicians and scheduling hospital admissions and testing under clinician orders. **Education/Experience/Skills:** + Must be a graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses. + Must be a certified Medical Assistant, LPN or RN with an active certification/license to practice in the state of Iowa. + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. **We offer:** A competitive hourly wage plus paid vacation, generous company provided benefits, and much more. **$3,000 sign-on bonus** ($1,000 paid at hire, $1,000 paid at 6 months, $1,000 paid at 1 year of service) Grand River Medical Group is an independent physician owned practice located in Dubuque, IA.
