Description
Position requires a scheduled day at 2 different facilities: Riverhead & Patchogue - Each on a different day.Hours 10:00 am - 6:00 pm$48.00 -$50.00MAIN FUNCTION:
+ To assist in maintaining the highest quality of care to all patients.
+ To act as health coordinator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Document all pertinent nursing care matters in client’s EMR.
+ Provide Nursing Assessment and consultation to prospective and actual patients.
+ Maintain records of all infection control matters pertaining to patients and staff.
+ Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
+ Maintain log (if applicable) for medications or other solutions (e.g., PPD solution, Naltrexone, Buprenorphine) stored at the facility along with destruction/expiration information.
+ Ensure provision of education, risk reduction, counseling, and referral services to all patients regarding HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, and other communicable diseases.
+ Follow universal precautions and utilize appropriate infection control measures.
+ Supervise same-sex urine sample collection for toxicology.
+ Administer breathalyzer and alcohol swabs.
+ Attend job-related meetings and in-service lectures.
+ Inform office manager of general office and medical supplies as needed.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
+ Perform Admission Nursing Assessment and make appropriate nursing diagnoses based on that assessment.
+ Assess client’s psychiatric history and current psychiatric status.
+ Administer medications as ordered by the physician (MAT programs), understand basic pharmacology, and perform PPD testing (intradermal skin test).
+ Proficient in basic nursing skills and competent in taking an electrocardiogram and blood pressure.
+ Age-specific clinical skills related to adolescent and geriatric clients.
+ Proficient in computer usage, including EMR systems, Microsoft Outlook, and other information systems.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Current New York State Registered Nurse licensure, CPR certification.
