Title:Nurse RN P/T ID:5650-1183H Department:Nursing Location:Patchogue Description Since 1985, Seafield Center has helped people suffering from drug and alcohol addiction to begin the transforming journey to recovery. From detox and inpatient rehabilitation, to outpatient treatment and sober living recovery homes, we provide those battling addiction with the road maps towards healing. We are licensed by the New York State Office of Addiction Services & Supports and accredited by the Joint Commission. MAIN FUNCTION: + To assist in maintaining the highest quality of care to all patients. + To act as health coordinator. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Document all pertinent nursing care matters in client’s EMR. + Provide Nursing Assessment and consultation to prospective and actual patients. + Maintain records of all infection control matters pertaining to patients and staff. + Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff. + Maintain log (if applicable) for medications or other solutions (e.g., PPD solution, Naltrexone, Buprenorphine) stored at the facility along with destruction/expiration information. + Ensure provision of education, risk reduction, counseling, and referral services to all patients regarding HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, and other communicable diseases. + Follow universal precautions and utilize appropriate infection control measures. + Supervise same-sex urine sample collection for toxicology. + Administer breathalyzer and alcohol swabs. + Attend job-related meetings and in-service lectures. + Inform office manager of general office and medical supplies as needed. + Perform other duties as assigned. COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: + Perform Admission Nursing Assessment and make appropriate nursing diagnoses based on that assessment. + Assess client’s psychiatric history and current psychiatric status. + Administer medications as ordered by the physician (MAT programs), understand basic pharmacology, and perform PPD testing (intradermal skin test). + Proficient in basic nursing skills and competent in taking an electrocardiogram and blood pressure. + Age-specific clinical skills related to adolescent and geriatric clients. + Proficient in computer usage, including EMR systems, Microsoft Outlook, and other information systems. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: + Current New York State Registered Nurse licensure, CPR certification. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: + Regularly required to talk or hear. + Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach. + Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching. + Visual acuity required for accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work. Position requires a scheduled day at 3 different facilitates Riverhead, Patchogue & Medford -Each on a different day.Hours 10:00 am - 6:00 pm$40.00 -$42.00
