Position Summary:
Responsible for assessing the nurse staffing schedule on a daily basis and reassigning staff as necessary based on census, patient acuity, expected discharges, anticipated admissions, call-ins and requested staffing needs.

Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Collects information from all inpatient units regarding census, patient acuity, expected discharges, anticipated admissions, call-ins and requested staffing needs.
2. Assesses the staffing schedule of inpatient units on a daily basis and reassigns qualified staff as necessary.
3. Analyzes needs for supplemental help, prioritizes needs, assigns matching competencies, and schedules staffing accordingly.
4. Collaborate with unit managers in analyzing data from the patient profile system when making staffing decisions.
5. Coordinate the assignment of per diem pool staff and the per diem database.
6. Creates reports, analyzes key indicators, and makes appropriate recommendations for improvement.
7. Monitor call-ins and responds by ensuring the appropriate assignment of agency, temporary and per diem staff.
8. Serves as an account liaison to agency nursing staff representatives, maintains nursing agency files, and assures agency staff credentials are in place.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
Three (3) years of experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
