Program details- Nurse Summer Internship Program
The Nurse Summer Internship Program is an eight-week internship program that gives nursing students an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience, engage with the care delivery team and become more involved with the health care community. Throughout the summer, interns will have the opportunity to participate in various activities to help foster their personal and professional development. During the 8-week internship, request for time off will be honored, however, should not exceed three (3) shifts for the entire Internship.

Paid Internship experience for up to 32 hours per weekInterprofessional Collaboration experiencesAbility to have hands-on clinical experiences as a Nurse InternField trips to areas of employment interest Learning and development classesThe internship will start on Monday, June 9th and will end the week of August 9th.
Position Details- Nurse Intern
Perform Patient Care Technician/Patient Support Technician skills. Work in a patient care setting under the direction and supervision of an RN. Assists patients with activities related to daily living (i.e., hygiene, ambulation and lifting of patients). Utilize pressure ulcer prevention techniques.Assists with admission, orientation, transfer and discharge of patients. Provide education to patients and residents, family and significant others. Perform selected treatments as directed by supervising staff. Recognizes and reports pertinent data, changes in patient condition and/or safety hazards to appropriate team member.Communicates variation in patient condition to appropriate person and intervenes as necessary. Performs errands such as obtaining patient care supplies, equipment, blood products, ensuring all areas are stocked, clean and safe, taking responsibility for all inventory and equipment and other related activities.Delivers specimens using correct protocols.Document timely and appropriate patient information within scope of practice. Integrates recommendation from nursing or leadership into practice. Attends applicable educational programs and applies information to patient care.Verify patient identification prior to providing services per established policy using appropriate patient identifiers (i.e., checking ID band, etc.).Recognizes and responds to adverse events, complications and emergency situations notifying appropriate leadership. Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:
Completion of nursing fundamentals classHigh School Diploma or GEDBLS certification
