This registered nurse supervisory position collaborates with the Nurse Manager and the Apheresis Professional Practice Coordinators. The primary role of this position is to support the Nurse Manager in the continuous daily operation and oversight of the Apheresis Clinic. This position is also responsible for ensuring nursing excellence and safety in patient care, oversight of daily staffing, and assesses standards of patient care, environmental safety, and interface with other departments to best support the needs of the Unit. This position collaborates with medical leaders, peers and colleagues at Fred Hutch as well as our partner institutions (UW Medical Center and Seattle Children's Hospital) to assure the provision of high quality, patient and family-centered care in an environment that facilitates the conduct of clinical research.

Hours of Business: Monday – Friday 0700-1730; Evening/Holiday on-call shiftsPatient Population: adults at Fred Hutch; mobile procedures for adults at University of Washington and Pediatrics at Seattle Childrens HospitalNurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 up to 2:1The Apheresis Program is well supported by two Medical Directors, Physician Assistant, a Professional Practice Coordinator, Research Coordinator, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Coordinators, Program Coordinators and Assistants and the Fred Hutch Cellular Therapy Division Responsibilities Hiring, training, supporting, disciplining and evaluating nursing staff.Assist in P&P, SOP, and patient education development.Assist in goal setting for the clinical service in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and work towards achieving goals.Lead efforts towards Continuous Process Improvement for the clinical serviceAssist in assuring regulatory compliance with applicable standards.Further the practice of nursing within the clinical service by using current evidence to support change through committee and project work QualificationsRequired:
Nursing degree, either ADN or BSNCurrent Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or multistate RN license.Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years.Additional certification may be required depending upon department.Minimum 2 years as a RN depending on the clinical specialty and 1 year of previous leadership experienceApheresis and/or dialysis experienceStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven project management skills and committee experienceProficiency in basic computer skills (EMR, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Ability to work under pressure related to work/time deadlinesAbility to provide feedback about staff performance to staffStrong teaching abilityAbility to lead committees
Preferred:

The annual base salary range for this position is from $115,107.20 to $181,916.80 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
