The Nurse Tech is paired with an RN/LPN Preceptor and performs patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN/LPN and does not perform any task that requires a nursing license.
The Nurse Tech will perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN/LPN, including monitoring vital signs, possible taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Also, the Nurse Tech will assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating and ambulation. The Nurse Tech will report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Also, the applicant must have completed the first semester of the RN or LPN nursing program and be in good standing. In addition, the applicant must have a minimum of a 2.50 GPA and have 2 letters of recommendation (one of which has to be from their RN/LPN Program Instructor).
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
