As a Nurse Technician, you play a valuable part in our dynamic team of caregivers, working alongside your fellow RNs, physicians and other staff to enhance the patient experience and create the environment our patients have come to expect. You will assist with necessary nursing tasks, such as completing safety rounds, answering call lights and checking and documenting vitals. This position is also an excellent opportunity to grow your skills and explore different roles throughout the Cleveland Clinic institution. **A caregiver in this position works varying shifts.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide or assist the RN with basic direct patient care, such as taking vitals and weights, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, application of external monitoring devices and removal of urinary Foley Catheters + Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to the RN. + Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean & orderly. + Demonstrate a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the workplace. + Complete mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Nursing student in good standing in an accredited Nursing School Program + OR unlicensed graduate of an accredited Nursing School Program + Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) + Maintain competencies specific to patient population served + Satisfactorily completion of hospital orientation + Competencies in the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Understanding of clinical mathematics Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
