NURSING ADMIN COORDINATOR

Summary
Position Summary:
Provides clerical and secretarial support to the Nurse Managers. Facilitates Department of Nursing staffing by utilizing and identifying available nursing resources, under the direction of Nursing Management, based upon unit needs and staff/census fluctuations to maintain cost-effective staffing patterns. Supports Nursing Management in maintaining accurate demographic, skill, and scheduling information on all nursing employees in a computerized scheduling system. Maintains and keeps confidential departmental employee files.
Optimizes the scheduling of daily staff, PRN, SWOT, and agency personnel to meet established staffing guidelines. Maintains and updates the computerized scheduling system ensuring accuracy of all information. Coordinates and oversees the daily functions of the nursing unit to ensure the unit is staffed, daily tasks are completed, and data is appropriately filed/recorded. Provides administrative support to the nursing management team Utilizes all available data and job knowledge for effective problem solving.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills. Degree or HS Diploma not required
Experience: 1-3 years
