Responsibilities
The nursing administrative specialist serves as leader, participating in and providing direction for departmental and institutional strategic goals and initiatives and specific programs. The nursing administrative specialist facilitates strengthening of the professional nursing practice environment at Mayo Clinic. The primary focus of the nursing administrative specialist role is to provide administrative infrastructure support for the department and Mayo Nursing as applicable. Nursing administrative specialists partner with nurse executive team in operationalizing the departmental operational plan and initiatives at the department level. Key components of the nursing administrative specialist role center on leadership, consultation, professional communication, project management, program development, and analysis of data systems and processes. The nursing administrative specialist must be able to define, prioritize and achieve goals and objectives with a focus on outcomes. The nursing administrative specialist is expected to be self-managed, perform duties independently, and work within a team. The nursing administrative specialist develops and maintains effective relationships with a variety of individuals throughout the institution and may have contact with persons outside Mayo as job duties indicate.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's degree in business or a health-related field.Will consider applicants meeting all other qualifications who commit to degree completion within six months from application date. Minimum of three years of nursing management/leadership experience. Master's degree in Nursing with administration focus preferred.
