Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, acts as a resource to the nursing staff throughout the hospital. S/he has full authority to make decisions regarding nursing practice, as outlined in the Nursing Practice Acts of Massachusetts and within the framework of established hospital policies. Serves as the administrator in the building in the absence of other management. Has the authority, in emergency situations, to make decisions of broader scope within this framework.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
BSN required for all individuals hired after October 1, 2009.
Coursework in management, business, public health, health administration preferred.
Experience
Minimum two years current hospital nursing experience with knowledge of management principles.
Demonstrated leadership experience required.
Licensure and/or Certification
Current license to practice nursing in Massachusetts required.
BLS healthcare provider required.
ACLS preferred.
PALS preferred.
