Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. 2. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Keep the Service Excellence statement as first item.
3. Demonstrates responsibility and dependability in the support of clinical coordination and clinical communications during agency business hours.
4. Responsible for taking vital signs, medical history, surgical history, past family/social history, and determines patients chief complaint.
5. Documents all relevant information and treatment in the patient's chart and schedules testing and/or referral appointments for patients.
6. Maintains medical supply inventory and orders all medical supplies as well as provides support to front office personnel.
7. Greets patients and visitors and handles incoming telephone calls in a friendly and courteous manner.
8. Develops cooperative and supportive relationships within unit and other units to ensure that inter-professional goals and objectives are met.
9. Demonstrates competency in, but not limited to, the following in the Outpatient Wound Care Center (refer to McLeod Health Competency Checklist):
• Assigned Access Control Applications
• Documentation
• Dressing Changes
• Patient Privacy
• Supply Inventory Management
• Vital Signs
10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications /Training: Zero to one year of experience
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: Successful completion of a nursing assistant program or 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
