Position Description:
A Nursing Assistant's (NA) scope of practice includes helping patients with basic care and activities of daily living. They work under the supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses.

Responsibilities:

Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate and temperature Help patients move about the room and guide them in doing range-of-motion exercises Supports and actively contributes to the achievement of the patient's goals associated with the plan of care. Individualizes communication based on the needs of the patients and families Update electronic medical record chart for each patient Report changes in a patient's condition to their supervising nurse Provide companionship and take on a caregiver-like role

Limitations:

Cannot administer injections, including insulin Cannot perform tube feeding Cannot perform bowel evacuation

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent Must have one year of patient care experience, or is currently attending an accredited Registered Nursing program and has successfully completed the fundamentals of nursing coursework Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire date

Pay Range: $15.50-$20.00/hour DOH
