Nursing Assistant - 2nd/3rd Shift
POSTION SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to provide direct care to residents, under the supervision of a licensed nurse or Medication Tech in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Report resident needs and concerns to a licensed nurse or Medication Tech. Must be able to communicate in English.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and must have successfully completed training as required by current state law/regulation.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers with experience in long-term care preferred.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Demonstrated ability to utilize independent and effective judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Produces high quality documentation as evidence by the following: Follow established standards of nursing practices to implement facility policies and procedures related to medication administration. Interpret existing policies and procedures related to medication administration to nursing assistants, restorative nursing assistants, residents, families and physicians. Provide care to residents following facility policies and procedures. Report residents’ needs and concerns to a licensed nurse/Medication Tech. Assist new employees in following established facility policies and procedures. Initiate corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance of a licensed nurse/Medication Tech. Participate in the development of an individualized plan of care of assigned residents. Review care plans and perform nursing care as outlined. Document in the nursing assistant notes the care and treatment provided to the resident and the resident’s response or lack of response to care provided. Assure residents are given adequate assistance with personal and oral hygiene needs following facility’s policies and procedures. Assist residents with activities of daily living as documented in the residents’. Assure residents have call lights at hand and answer call lights promptly. Listen to resident and family complaints and report problems to Charge Nurse/Resident Care Director. Respond to residents’ call for assistance promptly. Perform all other duties as assigned by Management. Takes steps necessary to produce excellent work in any task or job that is assigned.
