About the unit 

10N is an inpatient unit specializing in the treatment of patients with hematological and oncological illness with the additional capacity to care for 12 cardiac telemetry patients.  Working with oncology patients will provide you with an incredible amount of learning opportunities including working with chemotherapy, learning about radiation therapy, end of life care, and assisting with some unique bedside procedures to name a few.  Our care traverses the initial diagnosis through cure or palliation. We work together as a team to provide not only nursing care, but also educational and emotional support to our patients and their families.  You will have every chance to make meaningful and lasting patient and family connections.

Scope of work 

Assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and helps in the environmental maintenance of the nursing unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of defined practice. Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients promptly under the supervision of licensed nursing staff including specific procedures and patient testing addressed in the patient plan of care. Maintains an orderly unit environment with sufficient supplies and equipment in order to facilitate staff performance of patient care. Facilitates the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients on and off unit in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Range of Pay 

·         Pay starting at $15.13.

Qualifications 

·       High School Diploma or Equivalent Required 

·       AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

·       Previous hospital or nursing home experience Preferred

·       Current CNA certification Preferred
