Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay. Responsibilities Job Description Supports smooth operation of department by preparing patients for surgery, cleaning OR rooms between patients, and ensuring adequate supply availability. Assist the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care; transports equipment as requested; maintains order of the department utility areas, storage areas, hallways, and other delegated areas under the direction of a registered nurse. Facilitates OR room turnover. Performs cleanup of OR. Readies OR for next patient. Procures equipment. Properly cares for equipment and takes action for preventive maintenance. Transports specimens and blood products. Transports dirty case carts to decontamination area. Provides Patient Care: Assists in transfer/positioning of patients. Assists with prep Transports patient. Maintains Inventory Control. Orders and manages supplies as directed. Restocks department with supplies. Makes rounds to keep current inventory in stock. Communicates supply issues to appropriate person. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications to Fulfill Job Responsibilities: Required (Exception: M Health Fairview West Bank Nursing Assistants must be on the Nursing Assistant Registry within 90 days of hire and must maintain their status on the registry throughout their employment) Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program. AND Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program. OR Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician) OR Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program OR Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position (exception: MHealth Fairview West Bank Nursing Assistants) NOTE: Individuals who have completed a Nursing Assistant program and are scheduled to take the NA Registry exam will be granted 90 days post hire to become active on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
