Nursing Assistant Student MedSurg Cartias Perdiem Day Shift

The Medical Surgical Caritas Suites at Providence Saint John’s Health Center is a unit that offers premier patient care rooms with highly expert, qualified, and compassionate medical and nursing care provided. These suites feature elegant, private patient rooms and personalized concierge services available for an additional fee.

The Student Nursing Assistant is a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program. They function under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, bedside Registered Nurse, or Designee and operate within the scope of practice deemed appropriate by the Clinical Supervisor or designees, based on the Student Nursing Assistant's skills. While enrolled in the nursing program, the student nursing assistant is tasked with ensuring patient safety through various responsibilities. These include close and continuous observation, monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily activities, providing comfort, and maintaining a safe patient care environment. The student nurse is also responsible for documenting all patient observations and care activities. Additionally, they may perform non-direct patient care duties as assigned.

The Student Nursing Assistant is a student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing school program. Functions under the direct supervision of Clinical Supervisor, bedside Registered Nurse or Designee and within the scope of practice that the clinical supervisor or designee has determined is appropriate based upon the skills of the Student Nursing Assistant.  While enrolled in the accredited nursing school program the student assisting nurse is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure that the assigned patient(s) remains safe.  This may include close, continuous observation to maintain patient safety, vital signs, assist with daily activities, comfort, and a safe patient care environment. Basic patient care tasks may be delegated by the Registered Nurse, Nurse Manger and or Delegate.  The student assisting nurse will document all patient observation and care activities.  Also performs non-direct patient care duties as assigned.

The Student Nursing Assistant must have completed the first semester of the core classes of an accredited nursing school program.

Required Qualifications:

H.S. Diploma or GED Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 1 year: Must complete at least the first semester of an accredited nursing school program
