Responsibilities
As our Nursing Assistant at St. John's you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.
Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You’re diligent about your tasks observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining and accept coaching well. You know we’re all continuously trying to become better care providers and you’re eager to learn.
In keeping with the Dignity Health core values Nurse Assistants support and promote the provision of quality patient care and actively participates as a team member in the systems functions and activities of the unit/department.
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
High school educationSuccessful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant programCurrent Certified Nurse Assistant certification (CT NA)CPR certification (CT CPRBLS)
Preferred Qualifications:
Six (6) months recent hospital experience as a CNASpecial Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and writing; clearly concisely and accuratelyAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsAbility to operate common office equipment including computersKnowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures
