Maintains Nursing/MTS schedule with direction from Nursing Management. Updates nursing assignment board as needed. Arrange staff coverage for all call-outs with oversight from Nursing Management. Communicates with and obtains written confirmation of all scheduled agency nursing shifts. Assists the clinical charge nurse with timely coordination of emergency medical care between medical providers, nursing staff, and other departments at Woods. Answers incoming phone lines, responds to inquiries, and triages calls appropriately. Ensures the receipt and appropriate notifications/organization of paperwork from external medical providers and maintains resident electronic health records. Prepares and manages resident medical documents for external medical appointments. Coordinates the network of information passing between healthcare personnel. Maintains and organizes resident’s insurance cards, and updates changes to insurance information in the individual’s EHR. Faxes, copies and provides other clerical support for the Nursing Department. Performs daily audits in QuickMAR (or other MAR system) to ensure compliance. Maintains cleanliness/order of the clinical charge station. Computer entry as needed. Performs all other duties as assigned. High School Diploma/GED required, Associate degree preferred. Medical terminology and insurance verification experience required. Excellent computer skills required. Working knowledge of medical terminology, common medical problems, general clerical practices and procedures. Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and prioritize. Commitment to high level customer service. Display outstanding organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. Ability to offer guidance and communicate in an appropriate manner. Maintains patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPPA requirements. Works independently requiring little to no supervision. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, squat and stand for long periods of time. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
