In the role of Nursing Coordinator, you will coordinate the staffing adjustments and patient placement/bed coordination activity for the Department of Nursing. The purpose of this role is to serve as an administrative resource to nursing personnel, physicians, ancillary departments, and the administrator on call.

Responsibilities:

Evaluates patient care needs in collaboration with on-site manager or charge nurse and reassigns nursing personnel as needed among nursing areas.

Receives calls from off-site physicians and outside agencies for the placement of patients to be admitted; evaluates the patient care needs considering available beds and makes most appropriate bed assignment.

Utilizes effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, co-workers, management, physicians, and ancillary department staff.

Follows up on all issues by communicating with department manager and/or administrator on call.

Responds and evaluates risk management/legal issues as they arise, consults with administrator on call and risk management if indicated, and provides guidance to on-site personnel on these issues.

Delegate’s duties and tasks to other nursing personnel after assessment of the situation.

Requirements:BSN required.BCLS required/ ACLS preferred.Three (3) years of Nursing experience in an acute care facility required.Management/leadership experience preferred (Charge Nurse experience at minimum).

Hours: This is for Day Shift with a required rotation to Midnights. The schedule is typically 6:30 a.m. - 7 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. - 7 a.m.
