The AMG Nurse Educator (RN) assures quality of care and patient safety by ensuring compliance and adherence to state Board of Nursing and state Nurse Practice Act requirements, follows OSHA and Joint Commission guidelines and regulations; and State of New Jersey and local Board of Health (BOH) requirements. This position supports the AMG Clinical Education team and participates in new employee orientation, developing and implementing educational opportunities. This RN Educator position will have a strong focus on vaccine education, management and coordination across AMG practices.
Travel to AMG locations required, Ambulatory experience preferred, vaccine management preferred Work hours: 730/8 to 3:30/4pm (7.5 hrs) (no weekends, few if any evenings) Hybris opportunity eventually at managers discretionPrincipal Accountabilities:
Participates in a standardized new employee orientation program for clinical and non-clinical staff joining AMG. Emphasis on Vaccine Management and Coordination, including Vaccines for Children (VFC) and 317 programs. Working with the clinical education team, develops and implements training and annual competencies. In collaboration with practice management, assists with NJ BOH site visits/audits. Assists with inventory management and cost containment. Recommends strategies for improvement/compliance, assists with Corrective Action Plan (CAP), and follows up within targeted timeline. Identifies the clinical and professional development needs of nursing team, plans and provides education in area of expertise. Develops and provides educational programs for staff, other departments and community, as needed. Writes and updates clinical policies and procedures in collaboration with the AMG policy oversight committee. Disseminates information to practices and at monthly meetings. Stays current with new/updated regulations impacting ambulatory care practices, including but not limited to state-run vaccine programs (VFC/317 program). Evaluates own clinical and professional performance according to the standards of the appropriate professional and regulatory bodies and takes action to improve practice. Seeks feedback regarding own practice and role performance from peers, professional colleagues, and other team members. Acts as a liaison between management and staff. Maintains a positive attitude and works collaboratively as part of a team. Evaluates factors related to safety, effectiveness, availability, and cost to design and implement best practice. Pursues and participates in formal and independent learning activities to enhance knowledge, clinical competency, and professional development. Collaborates with senior leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services in AMG that align with AHS. Acts as a mentor and resource for clinical and non-clinical team members. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
