Overview Nurse Externship: Application Deadline: April 1st This program takes place 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:00am-7:30pm) from June 9th to August 7th. This program allows nurse externs to be trained as a nursing assistant, and shadow registered nurses in various specialty areas within the hospital. As a nurse extern, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our healthcare team and assist in rendering care to our patients. Job Details Responsibilities: Completes orientation & training for the role of a nursing assistant Performs the duties of a nursing assistant 1 shift per week Shadows RN daily patient care assignment 2 shifts per week Observes all aspects of care and seeks out additional learning opportunities. Interacts with members of the healthcare team, observing intercollegiate relationships, plans of care, treatment plans & discharge plans are implemented. Participates in the daily routine of each unit. Completes tasks as assigned. Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times. Works as a per diem nursing assistant when not assigned to nurse extern shifts. Requirements: Currently enrolled as a nursing student in an accredited BSN nursing program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals/Nursing 101. BLS for Healthcare Providers Training accepted from American Heart Association only. Must have good interpersonal & communication skills, positive attitude, flexible, and able to work in a fast paced team environment. Proficient computer skills. Salary Range USD $28.85 - USD $28.85 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
