The Practitioner-Nursing Professional Development (NPD) utilizes NPD practice judgment and expertise to improve and influence professional role competence and growth of learners in a variety of settings with a desired outcome to support the IU Health Way. Six primary responsibilities of this role include onboarding/orientation, competency management, education, role development, collaborative partnerships, and inquiry. This role often functions in these responsibilities at a unit or facility level partnering with leaders and other stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and initiatives.
Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN) required. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department/specialty according to patient care policies. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Two years experience preferred. OR or Perioperative experience preferred, but not required. Must have the ability and willingness to travel as needed to meet the system educational needs. Must have the ability to display knowledge and utilization of principles of adult learning.
