The Nursing Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) is a registered nurse whose practice is clinical nursing education and who oversees required education, competency, training, and professional development for the inpatient PTU/PACU/PACU Boarding/TRU/MPU population specific nursing staff in the UCLA Health system. Encompasses the delivery of clinician (primarily nursing), professional/leadership development, policies, activities, assessment tools, and systems. Promotes excellence in patient care, through skill acquisition in evidence-based nursing practice and clinical inquiry. Collaborates with nursing leadership (Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Managers, and Nursing Professional Development Specialists) to deliver educational programs and secure resources based on needs assessments and adult learning theory. Meets the diverse requirements of the nursing units, patient populations, regulatory and accreditation and strategic goals of the organization/health system.
Salary Range: $124,600 to $289,400 Annually (budget = $135,720 – $197,775 depending on paid professional experience)
