Nursing Professional Development Specialist

Job Description **Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position (2-3 sentences)** This position is responsible for training and ensuring Medical Assistant (MA) clinical staff are performing clinical skills & procedures according to Standard Policy and Protocols and other training materials/requirements. In conjunction with Quality, implements training and competencies on quality initiatives, key performance indicators (KPIs) and incorporating quality standards into daily work. This position does not encompass licensed nursing competency assessment that is outside the scope of the MA role. Conducts evaluation and measurement of associates understanding and compliance with all applicable clinical procedures. Collaborates with Operations Team to lead the planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating of educational and quality programming for the Medical Group practices. Focuses on establishing productive relationships and achieving expected outcomes of educational activities. **Employment Qualifications** **Education Qualifications** - _List the_ **_minimum_** _education, training, and experience required to perform the essential functions of the position._ **Required Minimum Education:** 2 Year/ Associates Degree **Specialty/Major:** Nursing Degree **Preferred Education:** 4 year/ Bachelors Degree **Specialty/Major:** Nursing, Education, Training and Development or similar field. **Licensing/ Certification** - _If registration, certification or licensure is required, include the name of the accrediting or licensing body._ **Licensure/Certification** **Required:** Current, active, unrestricted nursing license in practicing state OR must be a Medical Assistant credentialed through the American Association of Medical Assistants – CMA (AAMA), American Medical Technologists – RMA (AMT), National Healthcareer Association NHA CCMA, or the National Center for Competency Testing – NCMA. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire. **Licensure/Certification** **Preferred:** **Minimum Qualifications** **Minimum Years and Type of Experience:** Minimum of three (3) years of medical group practice or similar ambulatory/outpatient setting experience. **Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** **Required:** Demonstrated ability in project management and leading quality and process improvement initiatives. Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office specifically Excel. Must possess excellent problem-solving, data aggregation and analysis skills. Excellent communication and relationship building skills with both physicians and practice staff. Classroom facilitation and presentation. **Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** **Preferred:** Epic experience strongly preferred.
