When you join Indian River Hospital, you will find a close-knit team that will encourage you to enhance your skills and explore other positions through Cleveland Clinic's numerous professional and personal development resources. **A caregiver in this position works from 8:30AM - 5:00PM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Plan and evaluate Nursing orientation and ongoing professional development of nurses for all on-site nursing programs. + Design, direct, implement and evaluate educational offerings based on knowledge, skills and learning levels of nursing staff. + Develop and utilize appropriate evaluation systems to determine the effectiveness of educational activities. + Consult with individuals within the Nursing Institute and Ambulatory Nursing, CCF and the community regarding professional nursing practice and roles. + Assist in the development of department specific orientation and competencies as required. + Assist departments in orientation of staff as needed. + Make recommendations regarding employment, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations. + Develop and maintain a cataloging system for tracking and retrieval of all available teaching-learning resources. + Prepare budget recommendations for the NRL based upon input from faculty, students and own assessment of needs. + Collaborate with Clinical Instructors, Preceptors and Project Managers in setting educational goals for the individual student. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Two years of nursing experience with demonstrated clinical expertise, including clinical nursing experience as an academic instructor or staff development educator, preceptor of BCLS or ACLS instructor + Demonstrated knowledge of educational methodology, such as needs assessment, curriculum development, instructional design and principles of adult learning Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Three years of Med Surg experience with geriatric population Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
