Nursing Project Manager-Women’s Health-NE

Job Summary: The Nursing Project Manager-Women’s Health assists the department leadership and physicians in managing special projects from inception to completion. Works with department leadership and physicians to analyzes industry trends, market trajectory, competitive dynamics and threats, customer needs, expansion opportunities, financial impacts and service line and program performance. Delivers data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction, prioritization, and communication. Ensures project initiatives are harmonious with other organization initiatives. Identifies the project, defines it, creates a plan, monitors progress on the project, and communicates progress to stakeholders. Provides data and reports as requested throughout projects as requested. Demonstrates a good understanding of regulatory standards and hospital policies to ensure projects meet and exceed standard requirements. Participates in local and national activities and initiatives to provide educational experiences for healthcare providers, patients and the community on updates and trends in women’s health. Identifies opportunities for community outreach programs that promote LLUH as a regional resource and center of excellence for women’s health management. Contributes to planning seminars, conferences, and symposiums for educational events related to women’s health. Keeps patient pamphlets, brochures and education material updated. Serves as an effective change agent and provides guidance and support to departments as needed. Utilizes exemplary interpersonal skills and cooperates harmoniously with others at all levels. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Master’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field preferred. Minimum three years acute hospital experience required. Minimum one year project management experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations and accreditation, quality, patient safety, performance improvement methodologies, project management, data management and statistical analysis required. Demonstrates a high degree of social skills in obtaining cooperation and support from a broad range of people with various levels of responsibility and health care knowledge. Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access); operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, rules and laws; think critically; use sound judgment based on factual information and clinical knowledge; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications: Active California Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
