Description:JOB SUMMARY

This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards.

The Clinic Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of all clinical/nursing providing patient care within the facility. This includes the evaluation, revision, and implementation of clinical policies and procedures related to the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care, maintenance of clinical staff personnel and education records, in-services and performs Clinical Staff functions.

ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY
A.\tReports to: Clinic Manager
B.\tSupervises: All clinical nursing personnel who provide patient care which may include the following positions: RN, LPN, Certified Medical Assistant, Laboratory Technicians and/or Radiology Technicians.
C.\tKey Working Relationships: Providers, Vendors, Mercy Clinic Administration, Regional Director/Clinic Manager, Clinic Staff, and Other Departments/Representatives within Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa.
D.\tPrimary Customer Groups: Patients and families served within Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa

Position Purpose:

The Clinic Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of all clinical/nursing providing patient care within the facility. This includes the evaluation, revision, and implementation of clinical policies and procedures related to the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care, maintenance of clinical staff personnel and education records, in-services and performs Clinical Staff functions.

What you will Do:

All essential functions as outlined in the job description of the Clinic Registered Nurse.

Recruits, interviews, evaluates, trains and serves as preceptor/mentor of clinical personnel.

Attends Quarterly Clinic Nursing meetings as needed, and distributes information appropriately. Counseling of employees and handling of complaints and clinical employee performance appraisals as assigned by Clinic Manager.

Assists in maintaining department budget by monitoring of supplies, minor equipment and capital equipment purchases.

Performs duties of Medical Assistant, Clinic Nurse, and Clinic RN (including scribing) as outlined in those job descriptions. 

Hours/Schedule:

Full time day shift. M-F/ No weekends or holidays

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

A current Iowa License as a Registered Nurse is required.

Associate's degree in  nursing is required.

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing is preferred

Experience: 

Must have demonstrated competency as an RN through a minimum of three years of experience.

Supervisory experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred
