Position Objective:
Provides assistance to nursing staff in the admission process and the monitoring of patients with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Prioritizes tasks with the Charge RN, Nursing Coordinator I and Nursing Coordinator II to accomplish the daily activity schedule.

Monitors and documents vital signs of patients consistently and accurately within designated timeframes.Performs direct patient care activities including assurance of clean and safe patient environment, supervise and or assists patients with personal hygiene, assists patient in ambulating and transporting as needed.Performs body and luggage searches and room checks according to policy.Obtains specimens as requested, utilizing phlebotomy skills, and properly utilizes chain of custody procedures in laboratory samples.Recognizes and performs appropriate measures for emergency situations, (e.g. CPR, seizure precautions, and suicidal precautions following established policies and procedures).Communicates observations regarding progress and status of patient to Charge Nurse, Nursing Coordinator I and Nursing Coordinator II and documents in medical record any significant data.Assists with receiving, ordering, distributing, storing and inventory of supplies and equipment. Crosschecks supply order with Department usage report.Performs computer-related documentation: registers patients on admission, transfers patients to appropriate level of care and discharges patients.Demonstrated ability to utilize electronic medical record, word, excel, and other programs as needed. Assembles charts and other documents for Pathways programs including preassembled charts for inpatient and partial programs.Assists RN with safety rounds of inpatient population during night hours.Educational/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.Demonstrates ability to utilize electronic medical record, word, excel, and other programs as needed.Required License/Certifications:
Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPRPreferred: Certification as a nursing assistant (C.N.A.) by Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON)Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

Physical Demands -
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
