The Division of Information Technology (DIT) provides technical support to OIG employees located in 27 offices nationwide in response to problems related to their use of systems, applications, and equipment issued and managed by the OIG.
The OIG requires an individual to report on-site (telework is available and is in effect 100% for the foreseeable future) at the U.S. Department of Labor National Office, located at 200 Constitution Ave, NW, Washington, D.C. The hours of operation for this position are Monday through Friday 8:30AM – 5:00PM. The administrator should have at least 2 years of RHEL 7/8 administrator experience (RHSCA certification with 1 year practical experience acceptable) and 2 years of managing a Nutanix/AHV environment (Nutanix Certified Professional plus 1 year practical experience acceptable).
The OIG seeks an individual who can communicate with coworkers, stakeholders, and customers clearly and professionally. The individual must exhibit a positive attitude and aptitude for the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidate shall perform the following tasks:
Serves as primary Linux administrator: Building servers/workstations as needed, Patching/upgrading software, User administration as it relates to the Linux servers, Performing software installation.Serves as Linux subject matter expert: Review, suggest modifications, and (if approved) make the modifications to existing systems, Advising management, DIT Staff and other OIG stakeholders as needed on Linux-related issues, Assisting DIT Staff when their work involves working with the Nutanix environment and any Linux-based systems that are in place.Serves as primary Nutanix Administrator: Configuring and deploying virtual machines as needed, Managing Nutanix environment thru Prism interface, Patching/upgrading Nutanix environment, Deployment/management of Nutanix Flow, Deployment/management of Nutanix Files, Deployment/management of Nutanix Era, Assist with the disaster recovery testing.Backup Windows Server Administrator assisting OIG staff with: Building servers/workstations as needed, Patching/upgrading software, User administration as it relates to the Windows servers, Performing software installation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Technical skills should include, but not be limited to, the following:
Using kerberos to join Red Hat servers to a Windows Active Directory.Managing Red Hat servers via a remote console.Working in a virtual environment.Building/working with servers that have DISA STIGS enabled.Maintaining LAMP/Drupal environments.Maintaining BIND/DNS environments.Maintaining Samba and NFS file shares.Managing Nutanix environment through Prism interface.Deployment/management of Nutanix Flow.Disaster recovery using Nutanix tool set.Patching/upgrading Nutanix environment.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:
