Additionally, this role contributes to addressing local, regional, and statewide programming priorities as a member of the Extension Association team. The individual also represents Cornell Cooperative Extension's Community Education programs to the public, community leaders, government officials, and Cornell University during program delivery.
This position is grant-funded through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Federal Food and Nutrition Services (FNS).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, Health Education, or a related field, or equivalent of associate’s degree with at least 2 years transferable program/functional experience.
• Experience relevant to the role of the position.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including proficiency in using traditional and electronic tools for program marketing, such as social media, video, and audio technology.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.
• Ability to plan, organize, and present effective educational lessons to diverse audiences in group settings.
• Ability to work independently and as an effective team member within the regional program.
• Competence in purchasing and preparing foods, with practical use of resources and business expense accounts.
• Ability to follow recipes and ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow procedures and written instructions.
• High degree of integrity, professional judgment, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Willingness and ability to work with diverse audiences while maintaining cultural
• Proficiency with Windows-based software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel) and internet use.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Registered Dietitian
• Familiarity with the community where the work will take place, with the ability to utilize program resources.
• Experience with varied program delivery methods to effectively reach youth and adult audiences, incorporating development principles into educational activities.
• Experience with Cooperative Extension or similar educational organizations.
• Experience in grant writing.

Salary: $25-27 per hour
