Nutrition Intern Talihina

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Responsible for several operational components for a USDA Child Nutrition Program, aimed at improving the nutritional health status of those receiving the service. 

Primary Tasks:

Contributes to Choctaw Nation Health Services Authority’s objectives by completing specific work assignments dependent on the intern’s best career and coursework fit and organizational needs.Attends training and provide training to volunteer staff.Receives and account for vendor deliveries, check temperatures, prepare meals, and clean up.Ensures safe and sanitary conditions at the site in compliance with local health and safety standards.Delivers prepared meals to feeding sites as needed.Informs Director or Assistant Director of any changes in meal service.Stays at the site for the entire meal service, ensuring that children eat all meals on site.Other duties as assigned within scope and competency of the associate.

Required Education, Skills and Experience: 

MINIMUM

Active student with major in Nutrition, Biology, or related undergraduate degree program with career aspirations in the Nutrition field. Ability to obtain a Food Handlers Safety Certification Must have a valid Driver’s LicenseChoctaw CDIB or Choctaw member status. Must be currently attending an accredited college, university, or postsecondary educational institution.
