Nutrition Services Assistant/Cafeteria - Toledo Hospital - Part Time - Variable

Position Summary: 

Under the direction of manager, prepares foods needed for nutritional needs. Follows all established sanitation procedures. Performs area specific assigned duties to ensure food service to patients, employees, and visitors. Maintains area and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition. Knows and observes all safety and sanitation policies and procedures as they relate to specific area. Provides quality customer service. 

Accountabilities: 

Uses proper technique for pulling and rotating stock and labeling and dating of foods. Maintains foods at proper temperatures to assure safety and freshness following H.A.C.C.P. principles. Informs other duties, verbal or written, as assigned by a supervisor.

Catering Position:

Provide fast, friendly, accurate and clean service to each customer.  Build catering and lounges carts.  Deliver caterings and stock doctor's lounges daily.  Complete ordering and monthly inventory. Complete cleaning assignment when scheduled and/or as needed. Prepare foods and set up service area as designed by timeline.

Cafeteria Area:

Provides fast, friendly, accurate and clean service to each customer. Acknowledges customers promptly and greets each customer with a smile. Prepares foods and sets up service area as designed by timeline. Ensure areas are replenished with food when and where needed.  Keeps foods looking fresh. Must operate cash register according to departmental policies and procedures. Ensures accurate and efficient sales transactions.  Knows and observes all conditions of the cash handler’s agreement. Ensures proper signage is displayed. Have a working knowledge of food prices. Performs minimal cooking (grill, fryer, pizza) methods to obtain a quality end product. Completes cleaning assignment when scheduled and/or as needed.
