AdventHealth is expanding, bringing our quality, compassionate whole-person care to western Johnson County. Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — will include around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services and inpatient beds for medical-surgical, critical care and cardiology units.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Nutrition Services Operations Manager has accountability, authority, and responsibility for operational and human resource management for the nutrition services department. The Nutrition Services Operations Manager directs culinary oversight of the operations in the cafeteria, physician lounge, and special functions/catering needs. The Nutrition Services Operations Manager oversees the interview, hiring and training process of food service team members. The Nutrition Services Operations Manager schedules training and implements quality management initiatives related to foodservice standards and customer service excellence. The Nutrition Services Operations Manager fosters the integration of the organization’s vision and values and accomplishes the mission and strategic plan through an accountable work team. The Nutrition Services Operations Manager leads and trains production staff in menu and recipe development/standardization, and production/service; manages inventory and purchasing. The Nutrition Services Operations Manager ensures profitability and outstanding quality and service while maintaining safety/sanitation standards and budgetary goals through cost-effective resource allocation. The Nutrition Services Operations Manager collaborates with the administrative leadership team to establish expectations, plans and priorities for the Nutrition Services department. The Nutrition Services Operations Manager owns and maintains department policies and procedures and ensures that team members are following them accordingly.

· Maintains a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room.

· Maximizes productivity through development and maintenance of staffing plans appropriate to level of service provided, utilizing benchmarking, and best practice standards.

· Participates in annual budget development and adheres to budget guidelines.

· Provides input on equipment and supplies purchases necessary to the delivery of care/services.

· Organizes and prioritizes work assignment and demonstrates flexibility to accommodate the following: daily staffing and management plans, changing work environment, high acuity, high census, and/or sudden emergencies to meet unit/organization needs.

· Creates new recipes that focus on healthy cuisines; trains and teaches staff to execute the recipes following standard guidelines. Routinely checks food for quality, taste, appearance, and freshness; takes corrective action when needed.

· Leads and supports Nutrition Services department development with culinary initiatives while identifying current culinary market trends.

· Reviews menu offerings routinely and makes changes based on product availability, popularity of items, and profitability analysis.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Minimum qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5 years of food service management experience; 5 years of position related experience, ServSafe Manager Certification within 90 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications: Culinary Arts Degree, Certified Dietary Manager
